Biography

Ying Gao is a PhD candidate in comparative politics exploring the political economy of urbanization and development in the global south. She holds a Master in City Planning from MIT and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. Before her academic pursuit, Ying worked at the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat)’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific.
