Biography

Sara Plana is a PhD student in the Department of Political Science at MIT, whose dissertation focuses on proxy warfare. Her academic interests include organizational behavior of armed groups, civil-military relations, military effectiveness, civil war, and use of force. She graduated magna cum laude with an AB in Government from Harvard University in 2012, where she was awarded the Thomas Hoopes Prize for outstanding scholarly work for her undergraduate thesis.
