Biography

Elizabeth Dekeyser is a PhD candidate in political science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her primary research centers on local relationships between Islam and the state in France, using macro-level automated text analysis of social media as well as in-depth ethnographic fieldwork. Other work examines ethnic identity and citizenship more broadly. Her research has been supported by the Harvard Center for European Studies, the United States Institute for Peace, the Center for International Studies, the Smith Richardson Foundation, and others.

Elizabeth received a BA in International Relations from Stanford University where she was a Stanford in Government Fellow and received the Firestone Medal for excellence in undergraduate research.
