Andrew Halterman
Biography
Andrew Halterman is a PhD student in comparative politics and political methodology. His research interests include developing new methods for automated text analysis and forecasting political events, specifically relating to political violence and civil war. After graduating from Amherst College with a BA in political science in 2011, Andy completed a Fulbright Fellowship in Kosovo. Before joining MIT, he worked for several years in Washington, D.C. developing methods and software to analyze large datasets, and to extract data from text for government clients.
